Govt lets operators not keep TV, radio, streaming public traffic

MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has allowed the connection operators not to store traffic of public TV and radio channels and streaming services, and the relevant ruling was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the government’s press service said on Wednesday in a statement.

“Of the total volume of textual, voice, and audio visual information of the users that the connection operates must store in compliance with the package of the anti-terrorist laws, traffic of publicly available TV and radio channels and streaming services was excluded,” the statement read.

The measures are aimed at reducing the connection operators’ expenses on traffic storage.
